Prostate Cancer

I am currently undergoing treatment for advanced (metastatic) prostate cancer which was diagnosed late last year. I am posting this to try to prevent other men finding themselves terminally ill. Prostate cancer is common, has few symptoms and there is no screening for it in the UK. Check your family history for prostate and breast cancer (they are related). All men over 55 (my random number – check with a GP) should have an annual PSA test and preferably an MRI scan as the PSA test is not reliable. My PSA was normal about three years before I encountered  spinal pain and by then the genie was out of the bottle. Please don’t ignore this warning as it might just save your life. Pass this message on to at least two men that you know.

Banks

While I’m on the subject of banks (and other organisations) their security methods never cease to amaze me. Why ask for a favourite food, film etc? Even if I could invent one I would never remember it the next time I logged in. The solution is obvious. The customer provides the question, not the bank.

Banks

Just had a bank transaction for a small amount of money interrupted. The bank needs to check it was me! It’s ok for them to gamble with hundreds of thousands of pounds of my money but they don’t trust me with trivial amounts.
